Mud on my shoes and hope in my heart

We're allowed in! Finally we get to set foot on our own driveway, get slimy clay-mud all over my beautiful toms shoes. <sigh> But it's still a great feeling to be able to see how our block looks in the estate.

I've watched a lot of Grand Designs lately and while this totally isn't a Grand Design, I am at least familiar with the entire house building process. Our block looks really small now, but I'm sure when a big fat building goes on it it will seem larger!.

Typically the fates have decreed that the lovely stempunk-y street lights will be smack bang on our block. So block out blinds will be a feature in our bedroom. From the next street over I've been craning to see whether this would be the case and I'm not at all surprised that we've ended up with the light there.

At least the turn out in the median strip is also in front of our block (this could be a downside, I know) so we don't have to drive all the way up and down our street to get to our own driveway.

So here it is! It was a bright glare-filled day, so the photos are a bit dark...

Looking up our street

Look a pole! Right in our front yard!

The retaining wall behind our block. This puts our block about 1.5m higher than the ones behind us...
